6th Grade English Language Arts and Reading Teacher
This will be my 17th year teaching. I love watching children grow and learn. The intermediate grades are my favorite grades to teach.
I grew up in Wylie. I went to Birmingham Elementary school, Harrison Intermediate (it was a middle school back then), Burnett Junior High, and then graduated in 2001 from Wylie High School! I was in That Wylie Band and played the tuba. I attended the University of North Texas in Denton after high school and earned my Bachelor's degree in Education.
Enough about all my school experience, you want to know who the real Mrs. Gebhardt is, not my resume! I am the loving wife of Clint Gebhardt, who teaches 4th grade here in Wylie. We live in Wylie with our two sons and a wiener dog. Conner is 16 years old and attends high school in Wylie and enjoys spending time with friends, skateboarding, and video games. Corby is a 7th grader in Wylie and enjoys 3D printing, golf, and fishing. Clint is an avid reader, loves to play golf, and is my very best friend. I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, quilting, crafting, and eating snacks.
I struggled as a student. I am extremely dyslexic and hated school. I had awesome teachers all through my schooling but because I felt dumb, learning was never my forte. My goal as an educator is to encourage my students to discover their strengths and help them grow through their struggles. I want to make what we do in class relevant to them and applicable in their lives.
