Mrs. Shawnell Bradshaw

Hello Cool Cat families!  I am Shawnell Bradshaw, and I am honored to serve as Principal of Hartman Elementary.  I have lived in the Wylie community for almost 20 years, have been married for 25 years, and am a proud mother to three wonderful children aged 23, 21, and 18.

I began my educational career in 1997 in Richardson ISD and remained in RISD for two years, before staying home with my family. I returned to the classroom in 2004 as a teacher in Terrell ISD for one year before joining the Wylie ISD family in 2005 as a teacher at Groves until 2008.  Upon leaving Groves, I was honored to help open Wylie’s new campus at the time, Whitt Elementary, as a classroom teacher.  I taught at Whitt until being selected as the assistant principal of Watkins Elementary in 2012. I later returned to Whitt as the assistant principal and served on that campus until I was blessed to become the principal here at Hartman.

I hold a bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and a master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University. I am also a graduate of the district’s Leadership Cohort and hold my principal’s certification.

I am always so excited to be a Cool Cat and am ready to work serving the students, staff, and parents of our Hartman community!  My personal teaching philosophy has always been "Kids don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care".  I believe that ALL kids are special and unique.  Our students are like wet cement.  With each opportunity to make an impression upon our student’s lives, I always strive to make my impression a positive one.

As your principal, I dedicate my heart and my time to helping each student achieve academic success by building positive relationships with all stakeholders in our school community.  I am committed to HES.  Helping Everyone Succeed … with love!
