Howdy Cool Cats!  I am Erin Parker-Atkins (but you can just call me Mrs. Atkins) and I am honored to be the music specialist, amongst many other things, here at Hartman. 

 

I began my teaching career, officially, in January of 2008.  I became the Music Specialist for Hartman Elementary in Wylie ISD in January of 2012. 

 

I am also the mother of two boys (Shelby and Atticus) & have been happily married to my husband, Brad, since July 2018.  

 

In my class, our kids specialize in learning to read, write, understand and connect to music but, especially, in musical performance.  I believe deeply in the power of performance and how it can build confidence and skill in even our smallest children. 

 

We do big things here at Hartman, so it is only natural for us to have big productions.  In the past, these have included full-length musicals such as Pirates!, Treasure Island, Oliver Twist, Tom Sawyer and The Wizard of Oz, amongst other smaller but highly entertaining productions.  

 

I am also absolutely humbled and proud to have been selected as the Hartman Elementary 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year.
