This coming school year will be my 41-year-teaching Special Education at Hartman Elementary.  

I graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1978 and attended Eastfield Junior College for 2 years.  Then I transferred to the University of Texas at Dallas and received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education in 1982. 

Mr. Wally Watkins, the principal at that time, hired me in the spring of 1982 to teach Life Skills and Homebound in Wylie for the Fall of 1982. Hartman was the only elementary school in Wylie…Wow, what changes I have seen in this great school district!

Currently, I teach children with special needs in the Resource setting and Co-Teach in the General Ed. setting.

In 1990, I graduated from East Texas State University, now known as Texas A & M Commerce, with a Master of Education. 

I have a great passion for teaching children since I was in high school.  I love all the great challenges and seeing the progress children make in learning.
