Mrs. Jacquie Hiddink

   My name is Jacquie Hiddink and I am in my 37th year of teaching. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from Walnut Hills High School, I went to Bowling Green State University. My second year of college was spent in Madrid, Spain. My third year, I transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and began my transition as a Texan. 
   I am married with four children that all attended Wylie High School and graduated as Birmingham Scholars in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015. My husband, Gerard, is from Hengelo in The Netherlands(Holland) and speaks several languages. He came to this country when he was 23 and decided to stay. After going through the whole immigration process, he became a US citizen in the early 80's. Neil is our oldest son who graduated from Southern Methodist University in May 2015. He is working as a mechanical engineer for Ford in Michigan and getting his MBA. Seth is in his second year of veterinary school at Oklahoma State University with emphasis in equine. Erica graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York in 2017 with a major in classics, emphasis in archaeology. She is a polyglot, speaking multiple languages. She is in her second year of teaching Latin in a classics academy in Phoenix, AZ. Erica coaches volleyball, soccer and softball and she plays rugby as well. Jennifer, our youngest, is a cadet C1C, a senior, at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She is majoring in Foreign Area Studies with an emphasis in History, Latin America and Spanish. She is a goalkeeper for the women's soccer team at the academy.
