• 2022 High School Summer School Information

  • 2022 Summer School Payment Options

    Cost:  $75 flat fee, $25 flat fee for students on free/reduced lunch

    Any families facing financial difficulty regarding summer school should contact their campus for assistance.

    Credit/Debit card payments may be made using the following link: https://wylie-isd.revtrak.net at the time of registration.  There will be a 3.9% service fee applied.

  • Summer School Location: 

    McMillan Junior High

    1050 Park Blvd.


    Wylie ISD does not provide transportation for summer school.

  • High School Summer School Class Dates and Times:

    • Edgenuity students will be allowed to work from school or at home via Edgenuity during summer school. However, students who are not making sufficient progress will be encouraged to attend summer school in person.
    • McMillan will be open June 1 – June 30, Monday through Thursday only, 8:00-3:00.  All summer school courses must be completed by June 30.


    Registration (online payment must be made at the time of registration): 

    • Any students requesting to take classes for advancement should contact their high school counselor for registration information beginning May.
    • There will be in-person summer school registration at McMillan Junior High School on May 31, 9:00-3:00. Students can pick up a Chromebook (if needed) on this day.

    Please Note:

    • Incoming freshmen (Class of 2026) may only register for advancement classes of World Geography, P.E., Spanish II, and Art I.
    • Students taking Spanish II for advancement in summer school will not be allowed to continue directly into Spanish III Advanced or Spanish III Dual Credit. Spanish II for advancement will be face-to-face only (not Edgenuity).
    • Space is limited in summer school, so students should register early to secure a seat in their class.


    Edgenuity Classes for Credit Recovery (Not for Advancement)

    All of the courses below will be self-paced courses on Edgenuity and can be taken from home.

    • English:  I, II, III, IV
    • Math:  Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra 2, Math Models
    • Science:  Biology, Chemistry, Physics, IPC, Environmental Systems
    • Social Studies:  World Geography, World History, US History, Government, Economics
    •  LOTE:  Spanish 1, Spanish 2, French 1, French 2


    Edgenuity Classes for Advancement

    All of the courses below will be self-paced courses on Edgenuity and can be taken from home. Students will be required to take a final exam at McMillan JH.

    • Art I
    • Economics (2022-2023 Seniors only)
    • Environmental Systems (Current High School Students only)
    • Government (2022-2023 Seniors only)
    • Money Matters (Current High School Students only)
    • P.E.
    • World Geography


    In-Person Classes Offered for Advancement

    Students will be required to attend class at McMillan Junior High School for 1 period daily.   Students will have 1 hour of homework to complete daily.

    • Spanish II  (1ˢᵗ period 8:00-10:00 OR 2ⁿᵈ period 10:15-12:15)


    GPA for Summer School Courses

    • Courses taken in summer school will count for College GPA.
    • Courses taken in summer school which count for Ranking GPA will not receive weighted 
      GPA points.


    NCAA Eligibility and Summer School

    Taking summer school courses through Edgenuity may have implications for NCAA eligibility.  Students who are interested in being an NCAA student-athlete after high school should reach out to the NCAA eligibility center to determine how summer school may impact NCAA  eligibility.
