Mrs. Catherine Dyer

I entered the teaching profession last year after almost 20 years in the business world as a corporate attorney. I hope to bring my real world experiences to the classroom and to my students. My job as a teacher is to be prepared every day and to make learning relevant. It is my goal that my students leave my classroom with some new knowledge that will help them make better decisions in the workplace or in their financial planning. It is also my hope that my students understand that I care about them and understand they have lives and problems outside the classroom and sometimes grace and do-overs are necessary.

“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitution. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.” ― Thomas Jefferson
