More about me!
I was born and raised Jacksonville, Florida, which is located in North Florida. My mother is a teacher, so I grew up in the teaching culture- always getting to school early and leaving late! My father owns a construction supply business, and my younger brother helps run the business. Once I graduated college, I immediately started working in a first grade classroom, at my mom's same school! I stayed in first grade for two years, then moved schools and started teaching 5th grade science. During that time, I met and married my husband, Ryan. We are both from Jacksonville and even went to college together, yet we never formally met each other. His career brought him back to Jacksonville in 2017 and we connected in our hometown. He took me for a ride on his boat and the rest was history! We married in December 2019 and got our English Cocker Spaniel, Sadie, in June 2020.
Ryan and I love to go out on our boat. We have been out on the lake a several times this summer. We bought a house in Sachse and we've enjoyed working on house projects. Ryan and I frequent live concerts or any sort of live music. When we can, we spend time with friends and family. We miss them! To relax at the end of a long day, we crash and watch Netflix or spend time reading together.
One very important part of my life is my faith! I was very involved in my church back home by serving in the youth ministry and attending bible study. Ryan and I are blessed to have found an amazing church community at Watermark Dallas and love serving in the financial ministry there.
Personality wise, I can be very goofy and silly in and out of the classroom. If you were to ask anyone who knows me, they would tell you I am a prankster, so don't be surprised if your child comes home with some fun stories! I tend to be more optimistic and lean towards a "glass half full" mentality. I am a peacemaker and love to stand up for what is right.
I am truly blessed and beyond grateful!
