Degrees and Certifications:
Officer Charles Smith
I was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated high school in 2008 at Bridgeport High School. Soon After graduating, I joined the Army where I served as Military Police for 6 years. I was transferred and moved to Texas in 2010.
During that time I was able to work and study Information Technology. I then joined the Wylie Police Department in 2017 and served as a patrol officer for three years, where I was presented the Mother's Against Drunk Drivers award for most Driving While Intoxicated arrests in the department.
With many years of thought and consideration of the environments I grew up in, I developed a passion to work with kids, and a yearning to want to help them navigate their way through life. I want to provide kids the type of influence, direction, and guidance that I didn't receive while in school. I am glad to have the opportunity I have in being an SRO, and hope to be a blessing to others.
I have been married for 3 years to my beautiful wife Zeyna Smith. We had our first baby girl in August of 2020, and are hopeful for more in the time to come. I look forward to continuing to protect and serve through this opportunity.
