Wylie East High School Additions & Renovations
-
Structural foundation work is underway at areas A & H. More than 100 piers have been installed and grade beam forms have started to go in at area A. Storm drains have been placed at all four of the current additions. New electrical feeders have been installed to replace the existing lines that would have conflicted with the Multipurpose Gym.
Underground utilities and structural foundation work will continue in the coming weeks. Taking advantage of the upcoming break, from 12/9 until 1/6 the road will be closed between the cafeteria parking area and the IMPAC building. This will allow for the required water and power relocation as well as shifting of the road to make room for the Multipurpose Gym.
Wylie High School Additions & Renovations
-
The areas for the main addition and the new scene shop at the auditorium have been cut to grade and all concrete has been removed. The new water line for the fire sprinklers has been installed and the new storm drain piping is in place. The replacement sanitary sewer line has started and the science lab and kitchen waste lines are underway. The electrical service for the three-story east wing has been rerouted from underground to overhead through the existing building to allow for the new addition.
In the coming weeks, utility work and relocation of existing systems will continue, plumbing lines for kitchen and science waste will be completed and the installation of piers will start at the main addition.
Phase 2 Additions & Renovations Bush, Cox, Watkins & Harrison
-
Our second phase of projects for the 2019 Bond consists of additions and renovations at Bush Elementary, Cox Elementary, Watkins Elementary & Harrison Intermediate. Several rounds of meetings have been held at each progress set of documents. Feedback from these meetings have been incorporated into the documents and we are scheduled to receive the 95% construction documents in the coming weeks. These documents will be sent to the Construction Managers for updated budget estimates and constructability review comments that will help to further develop the construction documents. We should have final bid documents by February 2020 and construction is expected to start in the Spring of 2020.
