Hi, my name is Kathryn Aylor and I consider it a priveledge to teach Reading Language Arts (RLA) at Harrison Intermediate School. 

I graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1998 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am GT (Gifted and Talented) certified and hold a Texas Teaching Certificate in Elementary Self Contained (1-8) and Early Childhood Education (PK-K). I was honored to be chosen as the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year for Harrison Intermediate School. I have 21+ years of experience in the classroom and this is my 5th year in 5th Grade!

I became a teacher because being in the classroom is exactly where I belong! I honestly believe that teaching is a calling. My passion for quality education, as well as my experiences as a lifelong learner, educator, teammate and mom contribute to who I am in the classroom today.

When I am in the classroom, I not only strive to meet the academic needs of my students, but the emotional and social needs as well! Not every child learns the same way. It is my job as an educator to personalize learning and help each child find success. Success comes in many forms, whether it be through the pages of a book or in remembering to bring your pencil to class!

I love being a part of the Wylie ISD family and could not imagine teaching anywhere else. I am so thankful to call Harrison HOME!
