The Health Science Theory course is designed to provide for the development of advanced knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of health careers. Students will employ hands-on experiences for continued knowledge and skill development. This Dual Credit agreement with Collin College will integrate Dual Credit Coursework and hands-on experience inside the Health Science Experience. Students will gain 3 hours in NURA 1301 - Nurse Aide for Healthcare and 1 hour in NURA 1160 - Clinical NurseAide. Students will have the ability to obtain the Clinical Nurse Aide certification.

This is an introductory course designed to teach concepts and skills related to the health care industry. Course content includes: investigation of health careers, medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, legal and ethical concerns. Skills taught include first aid, safety, infection control, and employment skills. Students enrolled in this class will receive health education equivalent credit. This course has an articulation agreement that will provide any student with 2 hours college credit in HPRS 1271 - Intro to Healthcare Systems, if they enroll in Collin College. Basic CPR training will be provided. Participation in local chapter of national organization (HOSA) is encouraged.
