I started my career at Garland ISD in 1993 as a substitute teacher.  Eventually, I found my way into my own classroom in 2001.  Since then, I have had the privilege of working with Life Skills, Content Mastery, Resource English,  Inclusion Teacher, Transition Liaison at the district level, Department Lead, Special Education Facilitator,  and Social and Emotional settings.  I went to high school in Garland at Lakeview Centennial.  I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Psychology and Early Childhood.  Just finishing up the sorority rush with a bow still in my hair, I started graduate school at then East Texas State University pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling.  After talking to my classmates, I decided Amberton University was a better fit.  I graduated with my Master's in Counseling in May of 1995.  Since then, I have worked at Buckner Children and Family Services as a case manager/therapist at the Assessment Center, Fellowship Church in Grapevine as the Preschool Coordinator, and several districts such as Garland, Plano, McKinney, and Melissa.  Out of all the districts, Wylie is my favorite.  I have six years to meet the magical 80 to retirement and eleven years to meet the incredible 90!  Ultimately, I will retire when my daughter makes me a grandmother!

Personal Life:

I have been happily married since 2004.  We have one daughter that will graduate from Wylie East in 2024.   We have three puppies:  Lily Monster, Nashville Gunner, and River Rose.  We enjoy attending and serving at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall and Firewheel on the weekends.  When we are not in school, we plan not to plan.  We take each day as it comes.  We enjoy traveling to any place that has a beach.
