WELL-BEING WEDNESDAY
Your physical, social, emotional, and financial wellness is incredibly important to us. You can look forward to our Well-Being Wednesday newsletters during the school year. These newsletters are designed to communicate our monthly well-being challenges and initiatives, the latest benefit program changes, wellness opportunities such as onsite flu/COVID shots and blood drives, financial awareness presentations, as well as the latest employee perks coming your way.

WYLIE ISD COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR
Wylie ISD hosted it's first annual community health fair in September 2019. The district worked with the City of Wylie, Wylie Parks & Recreation, Rita Smith Public Library, Wylie PD, Wylie FD, and dozens of other community businesses to coordinate an event that provided a holistic approach to overall wellness. 2020 Staff "Healthy-ish" Cookbook
In November 2020, staff members submitted recipes for the 1st annual "healthy-ish" cookbook. At the end of the month, a raffle was done for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. For the full recipe book, please click HERE.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
We all experience times when we need a little help managing our personal lives. Wylie ISD understands this and is providing the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all regular full-time employees to offer support, guidance and resources to help you and your family find the right balance between your work and home life. MDLIVE TELEHEALTH
MDLIVE offers 24/7/365 on-demand access to a national network of board-certified doctors and pediatricians that can diagnose, recommend treatment, and prescribe medication. Get the care you need, when you need it. Counseling and psychiatric services are also offered. This benefit is $12/month and is employee-paid.
LOCAL FITNESS/WELLNESS DISCOUNTS
Wylie ISD has partnered with several local gyms, fitness groups, and fit-clubs to provide discounts to our district staff. These can be found HERE under Lifestyle Services.

- District Heart Challenge
- Each year, Wylie ISD partners with the American Heart Assosciation in a friendly competition between campuses for our District Heart Challenge. In this challenge, employees are encouraged to check their blood pressure. The campus with the highest percentage of employees who've checked their blood pressure are presented with a basket of healthy snacks to share. Additionally, the campus with the most donations to the Go Red campaign receive a basket of healthy snacks to share as well. The competition runs from November through January.
- My Life Check
- For the past two years, our district has been recognized for implementing quality workplace health programs and a culture of health best practices. We've been awarded with the Bronze Level Designation for 2018 and 2019.
- Employees are asked to complete an online health assessment as part of the program.

BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE - WORKPLACE HEALTH SCREENINGS
Wylie ISD teams up with Baylor Scott & White each year to provide Wylie ISD employees and their families convenient, onsite wellness screenings at all campuses and administration offices. Screenings are held in October.
PASSPORT HEALTH - ONSITE FLU SHOTS
Passport Health is the largest and leading provider of travel medicine and immunization services in North America. With 270+ travel clinic locations, a commitment to first-class medical care, and rigorously trained medical staff, Passport Health sets the immunization industry standard. 21-DAY CHALLENGE @ WORK - MEDICAL CITY
In October of every year, district employees participate in the 21-Day Challenge @ Work where they're encouraged to log at least one healthy snack per day during a 3-week window. The goal is to kick-start health eating habits at work. What makes this even more fun, is it's at the same time as the 21-Day Snack Challenge at each of the elementary school campuses.
CARTER BLOODCARE - BLOOD DRIVE
Every July and December, Wylie ISD employees and friends get the opportunity to save a life by donating blood with Carter BloodCare at the administrative building. http://www.carterbloodcare.org/.
