    Advanced Placement (AP) Overview

The Advanced Placement (AP) program is run by the College Board. Each AP course offers an exam in May that are used by schools nationwide to award credit for the corresponding college class. Exam scores are reported on 1-5 scale with 5 being the highest score. A score of 3 or better is acceptable for advanced placement and college credit by most universities. Students should verify their potential university’s policies on AP. For additional information about the AP program, visit the College Board website at https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/home.
