Mr. Tyler Hudgins

I was born and raised in Garland, TX. I graduated from Garland HS in 2003 and attended Texas A&M University where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Science. I was a Pre-Veterinary student. I was not accepted to Veterinary School and worked in the Veterinary Field for 10 years as a veterinary technician. I worked with exotic and domestic animals as well as spending 3 years in an emergency clinic. After deciding that the veterinary world was not for me, I explored my options. I looked into forensics, public health and other science-related fields before landing on teaching. I have always had a love for education and teaching. I obtained my certification and spent 3 years teaching PE and 4th-grade math at a Private School in Dallas. I taught for 2 years for a charter school in Dallas teaching 5th grade. This is my third year with WISD and I could not enjoy my job more! I am married with a son, Oliver, who is almost 2, and then we are expecting our second son in January. My wife, Arin, is a paraprofessional at Draper Intermediate in the art department. At home, we have a cat, Mertyl, and a blue-and-gold Macaw, Jessie.
