About Me
I grew up in Wylie and graduated from Wylie High School in 2012. After graduation, Baylor University (Sic'em Bears!) became my home for five short years, and is where I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. This is my fourth year teaching at Wylie East and I love giving back to the community that gave so much to me. In the summer of 2020, I married my incredible husband and my name will soon be changing to Coach Scalf.

Teaching Philosophy
Challenge excites me. My goal is to foster that same excitement in my students. I believe that all students can learn and be successful in mathematics, and it is my commitment to empower them to do so.  Teaching math is so much more than algorithms, procedures, and formulas; it's teaching students how to think, and be productive problem solvers, communicators, and collaborators. Although I love math and hope my students walk away from my class with an appreciation for mathematics, I hope the skills that they learn in Coach Scalf's class will be ones that they carry with them for the rest of their lives.
