Jefry Lema

Hola!!! My name is Jefry Lema and I am going to be teaching Spanish I Pre AP at Cooper Junior High School. I was born and raised in the country of Cuba and I came into the States when I was 13 years old. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a major in Spanish and a minor in Mexican American Studies. I come from a family of teachers, both of my parents currently teach in Mesquite ISD. I love helping and guiding students into becoming responsible, respectful, and successful adults. This will be my 6th year teaching at Cooper and I am very grateful to be part of this great school!!!

I love teaching Spanish and I am very enthusiastic about the new 2021 – 2022 school year. My goal is to expose my students to the exciting Spanish-speaking world through quality instruction, interesting materials & challenging activities. The Spanish program provides instruction in the 4 key areas of language: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The emphasis of our program is communication in Spanish (sounds, grammar, & vocabulary) with some study of Spanish-speaking cultures.
