Hello Wrangler Family!

This year starts my 14th year in education and my 2^nd year as a School Counselor. I started my journey as an educator in Wylie at Watkins Elementary teaching third grade and kindergarten, then spent six years at Whitt Elementary as a kindergarten and second grade teacher. I am so happy to be back at Watkins as a School Counselor! #Onceawrangleralwaysawranger

I am married to Wade and we have three dogs, Rooster, Pearl and Annie. We also have a lot of chickens, and one house chicken (Nugget). 

I am passionate about helping children grow socially and emotionally. I want all children to have the tools to succeed both in and out of the classroom.  I believe the job of a counselor is as a partner with parents and teachers to meet the needs of all students . This may look like small groups with students, meeting with students individually, or classroom lessons.  I will visit classrooms throughout the school year to teach lessons that focus on mindfulness (breathing techniques), empathy, kindness, respect, grit, and friendship skills. The Kids Count Players Program, through the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County is a resource we utilize for K-2 students to bring awareness to personal boundaries and to educate our students about child abuse prevention.  

I am also the 504 coordinator (K-2)  and MENTOR program liaison for our campus.  I am here to answer questions or discuss your concerns regarding your child’s development or well-being at school, so please contact me anytime should the need arise.
