Wylie ISD Education Foundation Volunteer Opportunities

  • Want to serve on a Wylie ISD Education Foundation Open Committee?

We build our committees each summer in such a way that each volunteer team can launch into their charts of work immediately as the school year starts. Members should expect to serve from July (some teams start later) through June. If you have questions after reading the details below, contact our office. We're glad to help.

    Development/ Fundraising

The Development Committee is a standing committee designated by the Foundation's Board of Directors to develop and implement funding strategies for the Foundation's initiatives. This team focuses its efforts on driving the success of a Community Contribution Campaign, North Texas Giving Day, and Donor Recognition. The workload is heaviest in September through February.

    Boots 'N Barbecue Annual Gala

Boots 'N Barbecue Annual Gala is a sub-committee designated by the Development Committee to plan and execute this annual fundraising event. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the community's partnership with Wylie ISD, tell the Foundation's story, and raise funds for Grants For Teachers. The event is hosted in the spring. This team starts work each August and meets monthly. The timing of the workload depends on the tasks assigned.

    Marketing

The Marketing Committee is a standing committee designated by the Foundation's Board of Directors to promote and represent the work of the Foundation. Work includes but is not limited to representing the Foundation at local events and social engagements, acting as a Foundation Advocate and telling our story. Marketing, public relations, social media and graphic design knowledge are priorities.

The Program Committee is a standing committee designated by the Foundation's Board of Directors to develop and implement the awarding of Grants for Teachers and Scholarships for Seniors. This committee also oversees the Teacher Supply Closet. Work includes but is not limited to establishing policy and planning as well as implementing the awards.

The following two volunteer opportunities are available to Program Committee Members but are not limited to them. Acting as a Reviewer for Grants or Scholarships offers a great, short but meaningful involvement in our mission.
