I am a 6th Grade Science Teacher and Harrison Intermediate School Student Council sponsor. I am a life-long learner and take advantage of as many professional development events possible. I have had the opportunity to spend time behind the scenes at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and The Department of Energy's National Laboratory in Oak Ridge Tennessee. These experiences along with numerous teacher conferences keep me connected to the science community. I love bringing what I learn and experience back into the classroom and look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with each of my student's this year.
In the spirit of life-long learning I completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction – Science at U.T. Arlington in May of 2019! In addition to my master's I received my bachelor's degree from John Wesley College in High Point North Carolina. I am Texas State Certified to teach Grades 4-8. I am a member of the Science Teacher's Association of Texas and a 2014 CAST Speaker (Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching). In 2014 I was also chosen as a "Siemen's Teachers as researchers (STAR) Fellow.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students this year. We have a lot of new concepts to cover and I know they will be up for the challenge.
