It is inevitable that you will have questions regarding your computer.  It is the mission of the Technology and Instructional Technology Departments to serve the teachers and staff so to impact instruction as effectively and efficiently as possible.

 
QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS ABOUT SOFTWARE, TRAINING, OR VIDEOCONFERENCING

  • "How do I send an attachment?"  or  "My toolbar is missing?"

  • "I want to learn how to use Excel."

  • "How do register for training sessions?"

  • "I'm interested in videoconferencing, but don't know where to start."

If you can't find the answer to these or other similar questions at your local campus,  contact your Technology Instructional Mentor, or e-mail Melissa Heller.  If we don't know the answer, we'll find out for you.  Our job is to make your job easier!  One-on-one or grade/department tutorials can also be arranged with Joel by appointment.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HARDWARE OF YOUR COMPUTER

  • "The monitor doesn’t work."
  • "I can’t get into the Network."

The Technology Department is committed to keeping your computers working and efficiently servicing them when you experience problems. If you have a question or problem that has to do with the mechanics of your computer, such as your monitor or PC, please follow these steps to report the problem:

INLINEA

INLINEA COMPUTER SUPPORT SYSTEM (ICSS)

  • Log onto the Inlinea webpage at www.wylieisd.net/support OR

  • Log onto the District website at www.wylieisd.net and click on Services then on Computer Support System.

  • You will need to answer a few questions about your problem and provide the techies with your “workstation number,” which is the number on the computer box (CPU) with a bar code sticker on it.  Simply type that number in.  Remember, the more specific you are with describing your problem, the faster the repair will occur.

  • Definition of "Priorities"

Low:  When you get a chance
Medium:  Sometime soon
High:  Extremely Important

  • Click "Submit."

  • Fill out the ICSS survey after the job is completed.
     Following the repair of your computer, you will be reminded via e-mail to fill out the ICSS survey which evaluates your technician's work.  You will be unable to send another request for service until you complete the survey.

When you're away from our network, you can still access your e-mail. To get to Outlook, enter the following in your web browser or click here : http://mail.wylieisd.net

  • A logon screen will appear.

  • Enter your user name as you normally would.  For instance, if your user name is joelp, then enter joelp.

  • Enter your password and click the OK button.
