Dr. Stephen Davis Named Executive Director of Secondary Education
The Wylie ISD has named Dr. Stephen Davis as the district’s Executive Director of Secondary Education. Dr. Davis comes to Wylie from Rockwall ISD where he is the associate principal at Rockwall High School. In Wylie ISD, he will oversee the district’s instructional direction, while helping to direct guidance and curricular resources for grade 5-12. He replaces Casey Whittle who is leaving the district.
“I am very excited to be joining the Wylie ISD team. It is a fantastic district with a reputation for outstanding academics at all grade levels,” said Dr. Davis. “I look forward to working with our curriculum team and campuses to keep Wylie ISD moving towards even loftier goals in the future. We will strive towards excellence in Wylie ISD daily, because that is the Wylie Way!”
Dr. Davis began his career in 2004 teaching math and coaching in Garland ISD. In 2009 he moved to Rockwall where he served at the elementary and secondary levels. In 2013 he moved to RHS where he oversees the 6A campus’ curriculum and instruction. In 2016 he was named the Region X Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP). He will begin in Wylie next month.
He has authored several articles on teacher hiring and presented at educational workshops and conferences. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and both his master’s and doctorate from Texas A&M – Commerce. He and his wife live in Wylie, and have two children in the Wylie ISD.
