About Mrs. Burdett

 I graduated from Texas A&M at Commerce.  I've been teaching for 11 years.  I've always taught 3rd grade in Wylie.  First I taught at Birmingham Elementary then I was one of the teachers that helped open Dodd Elementary, and now I'm getting the opportunity to open another new school, Smith Elementary.

I'm married to Ted and we have two awesome kids.  Travis and Emily are both in graduate school, Travis goes to school at Texas Christian University and Emily goes to  Rice University.  We're all Sooner fans though.  Ted, Travis and Emily all received their undergraduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma.  Boomer Sooner!  We very pleased that Travis got married on November 17th.  He married Niki Schuermann. (she also graduated from OU) She teaches 2nd grade at Dodd Elementary in Wylie.  Wylie now has two Mrs. Burdetts!

We also have two dogs that live with us that think they are human.  Cubby is a malti-poo and Tucker is a beagle.  Cubby's favorite thing to do is play fetch with his tennis ball and Tucker's favorite things to do are to be petted, chase Cubby, bark and sleep.

I feel like I have the most important job in the world and I'm blessed with a super group of students.
