| 50s Day We will celebrate the 50th day of school by flashing back to the 1950s! Break out those poodle skirts and leather jackets on Wednesday November 4th! Cowboy Day Congratulations to fourth grader, Trent B., for winning the NFL Take a Player to School contest! We are excited to celebrate with Trent and welcome the Cowboys player on Tuesday, November 10th! We encourage all students to wear a Cowboys jersey, t-shirt or Cowboys colors that day. This event is open only to Akin students and staff. No visitors will be allowed in the assembly or PE class! Thanksgiving Feast The cafeteria will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving lunch on Tuesday, November 10th. Please join us during your child's regular lunch period! Thanksgiving Break School will be closed for Thanksgiving Break November 23-27. We will resume on Monday November 30. Happy Thanksgiving! WatchD.O.G.S. Become a MENTOR Make a Difference Akin Elementary is proud to have S.M.A.R.T. Lab. (Students and Mentors Achieving Results Together) You have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child at Akin. By volunteering to mentor just 30 minutes a week, you will become a part of Akin’s wonderful S.M.A.R.T. Lab. Mentors play an important role in the education of our students.
