2008-2009 Wylie ISD Pre-Kindergarten RegistrationWylie ISD offers a half-day Pre-Kindergarten program for eligible students at all elementary campuses. Tibbals students will go to Smith Elementary. The morning session will be from 7:30am-10:30am and the afternoon session will be from 11:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. A bilingual Pre-K class is housed at Smith Elementary. The Pre-K program is provided at no cost. Transportation is NOT provided for students in the Pre-K program. Applications are available on all elementary campuses and at the Education Service Center. Application Process: 1. Complete the Pre-Kindergarten application 2. Take completed application and required documents to Birmingham Elementary on assigned day 3. Incomplete packets will delay processing 4. The district will determine if your child is eligible for the program

Documents Required to Register:
-Birth Certificate -Immunization Record -Social Security Card (Child’s) -Proof of Residence (Recent utility bill – water, gas, electric – with name and address, Lease Agreement, Builder’s Contract with completion date) -Driver’s License of parent or legal guardian enrolling student or valid picture ID -Income verification (Previous one-months pay stubs, TANF or Food Stamp documentation letter, or letter from employer stating gross wages paid & how often paid), if applicable -Military documentation, if applicable -Documentation from the DFPS showing verification of eligibility to participate in PK program, if applicable
To Qualify for Enrollment in the PreK Program, a student must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2008 and meet at least one of the following criteria;
-One or both parents were injured or killed while serving on active duty of the United States Armed Forces;
-One or both parents are currently active military;
-Child is homeless, as defined by federal law;
-Child is educationally disadvantaged based on income as designated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture;
-English is the second language for the student;
-Child has ever been in the conservatorship (foster care) of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing.
Documents providing proof of qualification will be placed in student’s cumulative folder.
