The Wylie ISD Education Foundation welcomed Pat and Ken Love to the Tibbals Tree of Honor and Knowledge in a presentation held on February 1 at the Wylie ISD Educational Service Center.  Mr. and Mrs. Love made a donation to the foundation at the silver leaf level in memory of their son, Matt.  Matt Love, a student of WHS class of 2004, passed away unexpectedly in June of 2003.

Family and friends of the Love Family were joined by members of the education foundation to remember Matt and how, through the endowment, he will continue to touch lives.

“Today is Matt’s morning,” said Betty Stephens, President of the Wylie ISD Education Foundation.  “This leaf will be a permanent tribute to a young man who loved life and will continue to live on through those who will benefit from the scholarships.”

Pat and Ken Love established a scholarship fund in Matt’s memory in 2004.  That same year, they also campaigned to get a heart defibrillator installed in Birmingham Elementary and another one at Smith Elementary in 2007.  Through the endowment, the education foundation will continue the administration of the Matt Love Memorial scholarship.
