Region 10 Secondary Teacher of the Year

Wylie ISD teacher, Angela Arp, has been named the Secondary Teacher of the Year for Region 10, an area encompassing more than 80 districts in northeast Texas.  Mrs. Arp teaches health and leadership at Wylie East High School and is the WISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.  She was selected from an extremely competitive region that includes districts such as Plano, Frisco, Allen and Dallas.   

She was chosen by a group of judges that read the nine essays written by each teacher nominated from his/her district.  The essay process is part of the state program for selection.  The next step for her is competition at the state level which will also include interviews for finalists
