Absent Work
Perhaps your child has missed school, and you are wondering how to collect absent work. At McMillan Junior High, parents may request work by contacting Angie Wheeldon after their child has missed three or more consecutive days of school. To pick-up your child's work (after 2:30 p.m.), parents must call before 9 a.m. and place a request with Angie Wheeldon.
Students who miss one or two days may collect work upon returning to school.
Examples:
Mary misses Monday, September 17th. She will collect her missed work from all classes when she returns September 18th.
Jerry misses Monday , September 17th and Tuesday, September 18th. He will collect his missed work from all classes when he returns September 19th.
Tim misses Monday, September 17th, Tuesday, September 18th and Wednesday September 19th. A parent may call Angie Wheeldon to place a request to collect the work from his teachers.
Students receive the number of days absent, plus one additional day to make-up any absent work.
Walking to School
Walkers should cross Park Blvd. They can cross at Westgate Way with the crossing guard and at the bus lane in the afternoon only with the help of Mr. Blank when he's on duty. At no time should they cross anywhere along Park and they should never cross at the four way stop at Blocton and the entrance to the Davis and McMillan parking lots. They should walk from McMillan toward Davis using the front sidewalk by the buildings. They shouldn't be using the sidewalk adjacent to Park. Click here for details on getting to and from school.
