Superintendent H. John Fuller
Superintendent H. John Fuller is beginning 32 years as a superintendent, 17 of them as superintendent of the Wylie Independent School District. Prior to coming to WISD in October of 1993, Dr. Fuller served as superintendent of the San Marcos, Muleshoe and Wells public schools. Beginning his 40th year in public education he has also served as a principal, coach, university math instructor and public school math teacher.
Under Dr. Fuller’s leadership, the majority of WISD campuses are rated as either Recognized or Exemplary. While at Wylie ISD Dr. Fuller has passed four bond packages totaling $256.5 million. He has opened ten new campuses, a transportation service center, a service support center, special programs center and an educational service center while superintendent . During his tenure student enrollment has more than tripled to more than 12,000 and despite recent economic slow downs, continues to grow at a rate of 6%. Dr. Fuller has brought technology to the district and into the classroom where it has become a tool used by the teaching staff. Such exciting additions as an electronic grade book for teachers and parent viewer for grades are recent additions to the district’s technology tool belt.
Dr. Fuller holds a Doctorate in Education from Texas Tech University, a Master of Science and a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Bachelor of Arts and an Associate of Science from Dallas Baptist University.
Dr. Fuller is currently President-Elect of the Texas Association of School Administrators Executive Committee. He was the 2004 Region 10 Superintendent of the Year and was chosen as one of "21 for the 21st Century" in 2003 by Inside Collin County Magazine. Dr. Fuller has received both the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Servant Leadership Award from Dallas Baptist University. He has also served as a board member for the Texas Center for Educational Research.
