Giving back to the foundations that gives to you! (Photo:Scoop Reed, a new teacher at Wylie High School, won a Major Saver card as a door prize. The Major Saver program is another campaign that generates funding for the foundation.)
Teachers new to WISD learned more about the WISD Education Foundation during district orientation. Representatives shared that more than $300,000 in grants have been awarded to WISD educators by the foundation, allowing them to fund innovative and engaging programs to their students that are not afforded in the school budget. New teachers were also given an opportunity to support the foundation through the Employee Contribution Campaign. Many district employees participate annually in the campaign either through monthly payroll deductions or in one-time gifts.
