Superintendent David Vinson joined the leadership team of the Wylie Independent School District in July of 2011, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in public education. Prior to coming to Wylie ISD, he spent the past six years as superintendent of Floresville ISD in the San Antonio area. Dr. Vinson also has experience in the Frenship public schools near Lubbock where he served as assistant superintendent for secondary education and as principal of Frenship Middle School. He was also a principal of Ralls High School in Ralls ISD and director of technology and federal programs. He began his career in the Texas public education in 1992 as a gifted and talented teacher/coordinator in Idalou ISD.
Dr. Vinson holds three degrees from Texas Tech University: a Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction. He and his wife, Cristy, have two children, Cal and Kate.
