Decisions made today will have major impact on the quality and effectiveness of the educational process.
Curriculum that integrates technology as a seamless process is a major component in the students’ education; consequently, students must be prepared to utilize all forms of technology in learning, business, and industry. It is imperative that the Wylie Independent School District continue to accept the responsibility to educate all students and staff in the application and integration of technology and provide access to the tools both for the educational process and the efficient management of the instruction.
This plan is a synthesis of the visions and recommendations provided by the Wylie ISD Curriculum - Technology Committee composed of administrators, teachers, and parents. A series of meetings provided insights shared by committee members, a review of current curriculum and technology resources, coordination with the educational specifications for the district facilities, and studies of successful technology integration strategies.
The goals and objectives contained herein can all be achieved by Wylie ISD. The goals and objectives are in accordance with the district’s mission statement and are designed to support the delivery of sound instruction to student mastery of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Curriculum Standards. The technology plan is a flexible document and will necessarily evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of the district.
It is the district’s strongest belief that through the implementation of this Curriculum – Technology Plan for the integration of curriculum and technology, the goals of excellence in teaching, learning and effective management within the Wylie Independent School District will be further advanced.
