The purpose of the Wylie ISD Professional Growth Program, ACE Academy, is to cultivate a supportive enviroment of professional growth opportunities which will maximize student achievement.
ACE Academy Goals
  • To establish district expectations and standards in professional growth for all staff
  • To provide quality professional growth opportunties for all staff members relevant to position/role
  • To plan purposeful, professional growth opportunities based on district/individual goals that will maximize student achievement
  • To promote a supportive environment that develops an inner spirit to improve one's craft through continuous learning

Bronze Level
Knowledge and Comprehension Level

All Teachers will complete the Bronze level within 2 years of employment

Silver Level
Application and Analysis Level
Teachers attaining the Silver level will complete 60 additional staff development hours beyond the Bronze hours required.

Gold Level
Transformation and Mentor Level

Teachers attaining the Gold Level will continue to participate in professional growth by attaining 90 hours above the Silver and Bronze levels.

    Professional Development Days
(For Professional Staff Only)
 All professional staff members who are assigned to 190 day contracts are required to complete 15 days of staff development during the 2009-2010 calendar. Fifteen staff development days are designated in the 2009-2010 school year calendar as follows:
 Professional Development Days -
Aug. 14-21, Oct. 12-13, Jan. 4 & 19, Feb. 15, April 19, June 4

 The remaining two days (12 hours) are considered professional development contract days and must be adequately documented. Parent/Teacher conferences will count for one of these days. The balance of 
six hours (1 day) must be accounted for in the Workshop portfolio by January 15, 2010. If you have questions regarding these remaining staff development hours, please contact your campus principal.

 - 6 August Back to School Week

 - 7 PD days during school year

 - 1 P/T Conferences
