Student Outcomes

The student will...

  • observe that heat from the Sun, or friction, causes change. Ex: thermometer changes
  • identify basic needs of living things
  • explore how living things depend on each other
  • sort living and non-living
  • make measurements using non-standard units
  • implement safe practices during investigations
  • ask questions, gather information (computers) in the classroom or outside
  • identify the natural world: rocks, soil, and natural resources
  • understand that science is always changing, can solve problems using your body, a math problem or concrete objects
  • understand systems: life cycles, season cycles, specific space, time, energy, matter
  • observe and predict system/cycle patterns over time
  • learn and answer questions about the natural world
