Hope for Haiti Shoe ProjectHarrison staff and students collected 278 pairs of shoes for Danita’s Children Orphanage in Haiti. This is the third year the students of Harrison have collected new shoes for the orphanage. Dr. Gilmore graciously agreed to have the school pay for the postage to send the shoes to Haiti for Christmas arrival. We are very proud of the staff , students, and parents for having such giving hearts.
Adventure CampAttention all 5th grade students adventure camp will be May 12th – 14th this year. Adventure Camp is an outdoor education center that provides hands-on educational opportunities in a natural setting. The activities all students will be participating in at adventure camp are outdoor living skills, archery, challenge course, prairie land education, water boats, and fishing. You will also have an opportunity to climb the climbing wall on your break time. If you think these sounds exciting then you need to come to adventure camp. All information for adventure camp will be sent home this Thursday. You need to bring back the yellow packet signed by your parents whether you are planning on going or not. If your parents are interested in being a chaperone then you need to bring back the blue packet as well. If you are planning on going to adventure camp please bring the pink paper back titled adventure camp medical/emergency information. If you or your parents have any questions please email Bobbie Carter or Gina Matthews.
Food Drive Harrison is joining the rest of the schools in the district in collecting food and toiletry items for the Christian Care Center. Students should bring items to their first core-block teacher, and the class that collects the most items will win a pizza party. Please make sure items are store-bought, nonperishable, and sealed in non-glass containers. Thank you for your support of those in need this holiday season.
