Wylie ISD Transportation News-July 2008
This year the district will see an array of changes in transportation services and routing. These refinements should make the experience of riding the bus more positive for students and parents. First, the Transportation Department will respond to the new daily start/dismissal times initiated by the school board for 2008-2009. The staff will also streamline routes to enhance efficiency and to maximize bus capacity. When possible, department members will decrease the distance that students walk to and from bus stops; this may cause some stops to change, however. Pickup time, drop off time and travel time will all be affected by these changes. Prior to the start of school, please review student information through the link provided on this site. Changes may have been made that affect previous information. If your particular route information is not listed on the site, please call transportation at 972-429-2300 for assistance.
At the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year, the Transportation Department will also start to use a route numbering system instead of referencing a bus number. The three digit black route number will be located to the left and center of the vehicle’s entrance door. All routing information will be referenced according to that permanent route number. If a bus is removed from service for any reason, the route number will always stay the same unless the route itself has to be modified.
