Wylie ISD Hits the Refresh Button on Curriculum
“This was a difficult decision for many reasons, largely in-part to the fact that Wylie educators have invested literally thousands of hours in developing the curriculum that we currently use,’ said Dr. Jeannie Stone, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction (C&I). “While our curriculum has helped our district achieve great levels of success, we recognize the need for increased rigor and an assurance that all Wylie ISD students are delivered a guaranteed and viable curriculum.” |

The Wylie ISD is making changes in its curriculum designed to put the focus on classroom teaching and maximizing student achievement. Beginning in the fall of 2012, the Wylie ISD will utilize CSCOPE for instruction to all of its 13,000 students. CSCOPE is a comprehensive, customizable, user-friendly curriculum management system built on the most current research-based practices in the field. Its primary focus is to impact instructional practices in the classroom to improve student performance. This change follows six months of review, including a comprehensive audit, and is based upon input from across the district.
